"Not Me" Evangelism ... A Snapshot of REALITY!

This week we all went out door to door to deliver the Crossway Bible Kits and extend to as many people as we could, a warm invitation to our Church`s Christmas Eve service.  As always, I get overly excited about any time we can go out door to door, it's one of my favorite things to do.  But before anyone gets the wrong idea of what bringing God's Word door to door looks like, allow me to give you these abc's of REAL family style evangelism:

We did NOT leave packaging some of the Bible bags until the last minute, so that there were a couple bags without candy.

The kids were NOT completely rowdy and fighting before we left.

We did NOT forget to pray before we left! (remembering before we hit the first house, thankfully.)

My little one's did NOT play with the item's in one man's garage while I prayed with him.

I did NOT accidentally hand one of the "candyless" bags to the only house that had children present...and then cheerfully tell them to enjoy the candy!

I did NOT bribe my older two boys to do one more entire street by offering to buy them lunch at Dairy Queen.

MY POINT:  If God's got you thinking on evangelism, particularly door to door ministry, don't think to yourself that you are not capable because you are not equipped.  If we can do it,  ANYBODY can do it!!
God doesn't call the equipped, He equips the called.   :0)  Our goal was more than surpassed in the end.
100 Bibles handed out to homes, 100 homes prayed over, 100 people with a warm invitation to gather with God's people, and 100 people with one more opportunity to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior!!
